About the Creators

She has used blogs, wikis and other web 2.0 tools to support learning with her six year old students for four years. Kathy has shared the ways she uses technology in her classroom with local and international audiences. She has won several awards for her online work including the Microsoft Innovative Teacher Award and the Canadian Regional Award for Reading and Technology from the International Reading Association. She is the recipient of the 2009 Kay L. Bitter Vision Award for Excellence in Technology based pK-2 Education.

She teaches kindergarten in Deerfield, New Hampshire and always seeking ways to expand the learning opportunities for students. Through collaborative projects and a classroom blog, her students communicate with a global audience. Maria is a frequent presenter at local, state and regional conferences. She is the recipient of the 2007 Pat Keyes Technology Using Educator Award from NHSTE and the 2008 Kay L. Bitter Vision Award for Excellence in Technology based pK-2 Education.
